World Premiere Performance February 16th 2005 at Kilkenny Arena.

A Star Of Bethlehem is a musical which tells the story of the Nativity through song and dialogue. The music and lyrics were written by the team of Jason Paul Ryan and Mike Hennessy. Songs included Gabriel’s "God Has Chosen You", Mary and Joseph’s "More Than I", Herod’s song "King", Gabriel Appears To The Shepherds", "Give Joy" and the title song "A Star of Bethlehem". The show was staged in a custom built theatre including live animals at Kilkenny Arena, Wallslough Village to co-inside with the Christmas Gift Fair and the show was staged nine times over three days. It was received with great sucess as both young and old alike enjoyed the retellingb of the greatest story of all time.

Jason Paul Ryan siad "This was something I had been thinking about doing for a long time and when the opportunity presented itself to work with Kilkenny Arena we went for it. It was extremely exciting to design and build the stage and live crib together in a special theatre. When people came to see the show they sat and watched Mary and Joseph arrive at the crib with a Donkey, Sheep and Cow right there beside them. It was such a lovely moment and we were delighted to be able to bring something different like this to the children of the region"
