Puppy Love The Donny Tribute Show will be on a mini tour in July with performances in London, Spain and Birmingham over next two weeks. The show is fast becoming very popular and Jason has received many enquiries for private, corporate and charity events over the coming months. Whether he can fit them in with the busy Starlight schedule and the Wedding is another thing !

We Are The Champions - Watergate Theatre

Sunday 27th of June sees the final performances of Starlight Stage Productions for the 2009-2010 year with the “We Are The Champions” show and Starlight 2010 Awards Presentations.

Students from all of Starlight’s classes Kilkenny, Wallslough, Carlow, Callana and Castlecomer - junior, senior and masterclasses in all locations will gather at the Watergate to sing and dance with songs from Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You and more. The Sunday performance is a matinee show which starts at 3pm.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - FRIDAY 7th of MAY 2010
Starlight Stage Productions have been granted rights to stage the much loved family musical “THE WIZARD OF OZ” in August 2010. The show will feature our Masterclass Summer Class (Any children from from our younger classes over 8 that wish to be involved can also take part if they want- ask for details). The Wizard of Oz will open at Kilkenny’s SET THEATRE on Friday 20th of August at 8.00pm and will also play a mini south east tour after its run at The Set.
There will be a Dorothy search taking place in a couple of weeks time for Girls aged 10-14 years who would like to play the leading role. Audition info to follow soon.

COULD YOU BE DOROTHY ??????? ……………………………….

Auditions at SET THEATRE, KILKENNY on Saturday 29th of May from 2.00pm onwards. If you are a girl aged between 10-14 and have a good singing voice and would like the chance to star in a Musical leading role this summer, call us now to book an audition time. You will need to sing two songs (well half of two songs) - one musical song (Wizard of Oz or other musical) and one Pop song! Successful singers put through will be sent to Dorothy Camp at Starlight Studios the following weekend and the Dorothy Search Grand Final will be held at the Set Theatre on Sunday 13th of June at 2.30pm with the winner being cast as Dorothy in the show.

SUMMER CAMPS 2010

Starlight holds 6 weeks of Summer Camps during 2010 from Monday 5th July through until Friday the 13th of August - Camps feature Singing, Dancing, Drama, Fun, Arts, Sports and Games and are held at Starlight Studios at Wallslough Village. This year the team will have some new exciting routines and music for the camps from High School Musical, Mamma Mia, Glee, Fame and Hannah Montana plus much much more. Camps cost € 80 per child (family discounts are available so please ask)

Midscale Theatre Touring Circuit

Starlight are currently working closely with a number of Theatre Producers eager to bring their pro shows to a wider Irish audience. The aim is essentially to bring bigger shows that traditionally would only play Dublin/Cork/Belfast to smaller venues across the country. This can be done by the venues and the producers working hand in hand and establishing a Midscale Touring Circuit for West End style shows.

Venues interested in getting involved will benefit as they will have the opportunity to bring in shows that in the past would not have been possible and Producers will benefit as they will be able to bring their productions to wider audiences and fill gaps in touring schedules with one and two night engagements at smaller venues.

And of course with all theatre productions it the Audiences who will benefit most of all with an even greater variety of productions of high quality without having to travel to the big cities.

SET presents “Life Shop Til You Drop”

Following four sell-out National tours from 2007 to 2009, Life Shop till you Drop! will start its fifth nationwide tour in April 2010 and comes to The Set Theatre this week.

Life Shop till you Drop! is the Sassy Girl’s Self-Help Solution.

Ailish McGovern is an unfulfilled Recruitment Consultant. For Ailish life would be perfect if she had a marriage proposal, a glamorous job and most importantly won Irish Tatler Woman of the Year. And so she selects 2009 as the year in which she will transform her life, by applying all of the instructions and mantras of self-help gurus.

Join Ailish, as she goes speed dating, feng shui’s her 100% mortgaged apartment and targets the perfect boyfriend, using the New York manual ‘Your soul mate is out there and missing you.’ Next on her hit list is taking over her boss’ job using ‘The work secrets only successful people know!’

However it seems that no self-help book that she has studied, teaches that pride comes before a fall. A cautionary tale, or more likely, a wickedly fun spoof on our love of going life shopping.

Life Shop till you Drop begun life in January 2007 in Bewleys Café Theatre Dublin. Thus far it has played four National Tours, over 100 performances and enjoyed successful tours to Abu Dhabi, the Cork
Midsummer Festival, Belfast’s Out to Lunch Festival, Dun Laoghaire’s Pavilion Theatre, The Belltable Arts Centre Limerick, The Helix DCU, Draoicht Blanchardstown, The Civic Theatre Tallaght, Galway, Navan, Roscommon, Wexford, Virginia, Carrick on Shannon, Drogheda, Dundalk, Longford, Tipperary, Birr, Greystones, Tinahely, Monaghan and Naas. It will tour Ireland on a fifth National Tour from April 2010.
