“The Stone” musical tells the story of a rich woman will do just about anything to stay rich and a bishop will stop at nothing in his aim to destroy her. But who will be caught in the middle of the battle, who will win and who will suffer?
Set against the backdrop of the walled city of Kilkenny with its stunning medieval architecture such as Kilkenny Castle, The Tholsel and St Canices Cathedral this musical will also be a window into the life of the locals in these fascinating times.
The shows creators are all from Kilkenny with Music and Lyrics by Jason Paul Ryan and Tom Bolger, the story is based on the novel The Stone by Claire Nolan. A superb stage adaption of the novel will come to life onstage at the Watergate Theatre this autumn.
