Stone Productions invite interested actors/singers to submit their details for consideration for the following roles -
ALICE KYTELER - Strong, determined female character, with quirky edge to her vocals - Not to be a ‘pantomime witch’ by any means but she should be mysterious, poker faced, hard and confident. Strong pop style musical Vocal ability is required: alto voice - although a unique sound would add to her ‘mystery’ (think Elphaba in Wicked). Her playing age range from is from 18 - 45 so strong acting ability to develop character through the script is a must. Red/Auburn hair with fair complexion would be an advantage as that the look the production conpany are after. Audition song is HOW LUCKY I WAS and a song of your choice.
PETRONELLA de MEATH - Alice’s maid and she is a very loyal servant too. She is a gentle and caring character who falls for the houseman Philip but must conceal their love from Alice. Vocal style should be a pleasant musical sounding voice ( think Eponine in Les Mis). Alto range with good acting ability required. Playing age range from 17-35. Audition song is MORE THAN I and a song of your choice.
PHILIP - Alices houseman and a hardworking and dedicated member of her staff, he does what is asked of him without question. He hasn’t had opportunity for love with his committment to his work and the chance meeting with Petra changes his whole outlook. He is a baritone musical singing voice and important acting role. Aged 20 - 45
BISHOP LEDREDE - Alice’s arch rival he is a determined and pompous character who believes everything he says is right and doesn’t accept people questioning him. He is a physically larger than life character well dressed and in good health due to his position and the comfort it brings.
WILLIAM KYTELER - Alice’s only child from her first marriage to William Outlaw. He is a confident young man and bestows a lot of his mothers characteristics. He must sing and act to a reasonable standard.
NURSE - An older kind housekeeper type who has looked after Alice since she was a child and is always there in the house just going about her work but keeping to herself. Has to sing.
OLD WITCH - A mysterious fortune teller whom Alice is brought to when she becomes a teenager. This character reads Alices fortune and forecasts things for her life. She also reappears to Alice in a spooky dream. She must act well but not a singing role although she does chant a little to Alice - aged 40+
FRIAR GLYN - a young Friar he is responsible for welcoming LeDrede to Kilkenny and assisting him in his duties although he isn’t too impressed with LeDredes tactics. He has to report back to the Archbishop of Dublin. WILLIAM OUTLAW - Alices first husband He is young and unsure about business as he undertakes the marriage that was arranged for him. He carries an air of uncertainty but pretends to know what he is doing and be the man of the house. Non singing role.
ADAM LE BLUND - Alice’s second husband. He is arrogant, confident, knows what he wants and very aware of his looks and wealth as he proposes to Alices. He has an element of sleaziness to him and is fond of the ladies. SINGING
JOHN LE POER - Alice’s fourth and final husband he is kind, cheery, simple man who works hard and is very sensible. Alice knows him for a long time and she seems to have a genuine interest in him unlike some of her previous husbands. He is an old man when they get married and becomes ill very soon after.
DEIRDRE - Alices young maid before Petra. She is an innocent, gentle girl who is obviously nervous of upsetting her boss. She is only young and longs for some fun in her life but all she knows is answering to Alices needs.
HELEN LE BLUND - Confident young woman who takes after her father. She has the courage to approach the Bishop to question Alice’s involvement in her fathers death.
