Sharon who hails from Castleocmer county Kilkenny is a very well known local personality from her various stage and performing roles over the last fifteen or so years. She has appeared in many shows with Starlight incluidng playing The Narrator in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and Glenda the Good Witch in The Wizard Of Oz. She appeared onstage in Castlecomer musicals Oklahoma and The King And I as well as numerous Comer antomimes with Deenside including Cinderella and Dick Whittington. Sharon directed Joseph and a number of variety shows and short plays for Starlight and she was assistant director for Aladdin Jr and Annie Jr.
Sharon was a huge hit on RTE’s You’re A Star first series when she sang Eva Cassidy’s version of Over The Rainbow at the Kilkenny Castle auditions and went on to be voted as runner up on the Kilkenny heat live televised vote final. You’re A Star is where she and Jason first met and on the formation of Starlight Sharon was the first person Jason asked to become involved as a teacher. She was also invited by Tony Mac to appear as a guest star with her band on the Decades Tour in 2003.
She has performed in many Cabaret events over the years most notably recently she has appeared alongside Jason Paul Ryan in The Musicals Spectacular singing hits such as Phantom of the Opera, Come What May, Last Night Of The World, I Don’t Know How To Love Him and All I Ask Of You. Sharon has won many prizes for her singing voice and has won the Award for Best Singer at the Singing Pubs Competition in Kilkenny and the Kilkenny final of the World Karaoke Contest in 2006 and went on to Dublin to the All Ireland Final to represent the county. She can be seen performing regularly with her band which features her good friends Kris and Lisa.
